Jonathan Cornelissen: Educating the Future

Jonathan Cornelissen has always been interested in learning, science and data technology. So it was no surprise when he decided to go to school for math. Greek math that is at Sint-Albertus College. He began in 1998 and graduated in 2004. Jonathan Cornelissen continued his education in the Erasmus Exchange Program in 2006 when he went to Universite` Paris Dauphine for Economics (Channel9).

He graduated in 2007 while simultaneously going to Katholieke Universiteit Leuven for Commercial Engineering in 2004 from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2009. However, that same year he would take part in first huge project. In 2009, Cornelissen co-founded Sagio.be which was the first non-profit private tutoring service in Belgium that could be accessed completely online. He still sits on their board 10 years later. He didn’t stop educating himself, though. He also completed a 3 month course at the Code Academy where he was a Developer in training.

In 2013 He went to New York and co-founded DataCamp and he is considered one of their very first CEO’s. Under that title, he grew the company to over a million students and has also grown their list of subscribers. Cornelissen raves that the company is still doubling their team revenue each and every year that has followed 2013. And Jonathan Cornelissen is proud to have played such a huge role in that. Today Jonathan Cornelissen is an Angel Investor to several companies and it’s what he truly loves to do.

He works with more than 5 different companies. Since the beginning Cornelissen has had a love for learning and he now continues to do so every day while also educating the young minds that may follow in his footsteps. Should they do so, hopefully they know that Cornelissen has some pretty big shoes to fill.
